Mom went to a fancy pants dinner party recently and had a wonderful time. She said the food and company were two thumbs up.
Well, we were feeling a little neglected, so she made us these grain free doggy appetizers. Lemme tell ya, they are four paws up! You can't beat that!
Bark Bar Apps (Grain free)
The Simple How-to:
>Pat two pounds of meat out thin to fill a jelly roll sized baking sheet. (Mom used 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb lean ground beef.)
>Bake until cooked through at about 300F.
>While the meat is baking, peel and cook five medium sweet potatoes.
>Mash sweet potatoes and combine well with four eggs.
>Slice hot dogs into thin coins. (Mom used uncured/nitrate free turkey dogs.)
>Drain fat/liquids from baking sheet.
>Spread potato mixture over the meat.
>Press hot dogs into the spread mixture.
>Bake at 300F for an hour or 200F for several hours, until they are as dry as you like. (These will still be fairly moist.)
>Cut into bars and Cool. (We got about 150 1"x1" bars.)
>Store any leftovers in an airtight container in your refrigerator!
Enjoy!
OM NOM NOM. Those look like a good breakfast bar for pups!
